BIOGRAPHY;

Samantha Hines, born in Sydney, Australia, began her dance training before attending the New Zealand School of Dance. In her final year (2012), she was recruited by Australian Dance Theatre under the directorship of Garry Stewart, performing and touring extensively with the company both nationally and internationally for four years.

In 2016, Samantha transitioned to working with renowned choreographers Lucy Guerin, Gideon Obarzanek, and Stephanie Lake. From 2017 to 2021, she was a full-time company member at Dancenorth, touring across America, Europe, Mexico, and Asia.

Her career has been marked by performances in world premieres, including Grey Rhino by Cass Mortimer Eipper and Charmene Yap, Manifesto, Monsters, and Pile of Bones with Stephanie Lake Company, Double Beat by Sara Black, and How to Be Us and New Retro by Lucy Guerin Inc. Most recently, in 2023–2024, she was involved in the development of Akram Khan’s Thikra, which premiered in January 2025.

Samantha’s work has earned her nominations for prestigious awards, including the Helpmann Award (2017), Greenroom Award (2017), and New York Bessie Award (2019).
